  David Berkowitz, otherwise known as the Son of Sam and the .44 Caliber Killer, was convicted and sentenced to life in prison for brutally murdering 6 people and wounding several others in the late 1970's. David grew up with a troubled childhood, and at the age of 16 joined the military, serving in Korea. Returning to home soil at 21, David felt lost and was looking for a purpose; he found his purpose through join an occult. During the years 1975 -1979, the once beautiful and prosperous country of Cambodia became a "Killing Field" when two million innocent Cambodians died of starvation, disease, overwork, or by execution at the hands of Khmer Rouge soldiers. Those who survived experienced tremendous psychological trauma.

Even now, twenty-five years later, many Cambodians do not want to talk about what they went through. They are silent about the past.
